Sooooo, who am I? Well, I’m a very curious guy. I love to travel and explore; to laugh and make others laugh. I enjoy exercising, eating great food, drinking red wine, Muay Thai kickboxing, practicing Spanish, thinking creatively/coming up with new ideas, and taking on new challenges.
I am on a mission to live an examined life by way of great conversation, with great people, in great places.
I was raised in a town just outside St. Louis, MO. I got my undergrad degree at the University of Missouri - St. Louis (UMSL) and majored in International Business (minor in Spanish). I was able to go to Spain for a semester and a business tour of China while at UMSL. Great, great experiences. (fun fact: the semester in Spain wasn't offered by my school and the China trip was pass/fail and yet I got an "A". How? It was not left to chance. I created these outcomes by having clarity and persistence.)
After undergrad, I went up to Chicago with about 600 bucks and stayed on a friends couch for months until I found a gig waiting tables. Early on, I waited on a guy who worked at the Chicago commodity exchange. We had a great conversation which lead to me working with him for years. After over 5 years of the corporate world and attending MBA classes at night, I decided it was time to shake things up. It was time to go on a journey to see what I could do and who I could be.
You see, I had been reading heroic books and quotes, watching TED talks, and listening to podcasts that would inspire me to imagine a whole new life - one filled with adventure, wonder, and curiosity. I felt I was losing touch with the natural curiosity to learn more about this amazing place on earth. So, it was time to take a risk. Though, at the time, the bigger risk was to not take a risk at all.
What else… currently obsessed with 8tracks.com, Joe Rogan Podcast, Jason Silva videos, Brian Johnson’s Philosopher’s Notes, and Comedians in Cars getting Coffee (this show puts me in an unexplainably good mood). I’m sure there’s some other stuff but that’s off the top of my head. Oh, and I love to exercise. A good workout can change the week.
My focus is not on collecting stuff but creating experiences and a lifestyle I am proud to live. And so I’m looking to have powerful conversations with people who have good character and are looking to do badass shit. If that’s not you, then it probably won’t be a great fit. But if this story resonates with you, and you are ready to be a little courageous, then let’s chat. Who knows what will come of it?

I worked in corporate for over 5 years and completed business school at night before I decided to venture off and create a new life for myself. It has been a great journey.

I think a big part of happiness is making sure we are taking care of ourselves. I trained in Muay Thai kickboxing for about 7 years and much of that physical drive has stayed with me. If you have any physical goals I can help you talk through them and come up with a plan that you can adopt. It's about turning these activities into a lifestyle.
I like to move around. Since August of 2013, I’ve been to Austin, Vegas, New York twice, California thrice, Peru, Chile, Uruguay, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Indonesia, and Thailand.
